Members of the Penn State community are invited to register for Learning Design Summer Camp, to be held Thursday, July 20 from 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Business Building, University Park.
This free event with a fun, informal atmosphere is a community-designed gathering of anyone interested in issues related to the learning design process, including instructional designers, faculty, students, librarians, education technologists, and multimedia developers. This year, the event is being held face-to-face.
During Camp, attendees can learn about learning design breakthroughs as well as challenges from their peers, enjoy small group discussion and hands-on activities, and build community. The event will also feature three campus tours to the Planetarium, Bakery, and Arboretum (advance registration required).
This year’s theme is “Connections.” Session topics will focus on connecting people to resources, connecting designers to teachers, connecting questions to research, connecting strategies to goals, connecting design to learning outcomes, and more.
To register, complete the brief online registration form.
Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7:15 a.m. and the keynote will begin at 8 a.m. Attendees can purchase lunch in the onsite Blue Chip Bistro, and tables will be set up in the Atrium for the community to gather at lunchtime. The planning team will host a Creamery ice cream social in the afternoon to celebrate the learning design community.
