Members of the Penn State community are invited to register for Learning Design Summer Camp, to be held Thursday, July 17 from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Deike Building, University Park.
This free event with a fun, informal atmosphere is a community-designed gathering of anyone interested in issues related to the learning design process, including instructional designers, faculty, students, librarians, education technologists, and multimedia developers. This year, the event is being held face-to-face, however, there will be one track that can be viewed via zoom during the day.
During Camp, attendees can learn about learning design breakthroughs as well as challenges from their peers, enjoy small group discussion and hands-on activities, and build community.
This year’s theme is “Building Bridges”. At Penn State, our students benefit daily from the devotion of our talented Learning Design Community and their efforts to ‘building bridges’ within our educational learning environment.
Our Keynote Speaker is Susan Russell, an Associate Professor in the School of Theatre at Penn State University and will be presenting, “The Story of you…..What if the story of YOU both “minds the gap” and fills it with possibilities? Let’s tell a story and see what happens!”
To register, complete the brief online registration form.
Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7:15 a.m. and the keynote will begin at 8 a.m. Attendees can purchase lunch in a variety of locations on Campus or Downtown. The planning team will host a Creamery ice cream social in the afternoon to celebrate the learning design community during the Poster and Discover Session.
